Dubbed America’s “Kitchen Goddess,” Joan is best known as the host, creator and writer of HGTV’s Kitchen Design with Joan Kohn and Bed + Bath Design with Joan Kohn, two popular series at the heart of the network’s prime time schedule for 12 seasons. Her design philosophy, reflected in the tagline Do Something Beautiful for Yourself®, resonated with an enthusiastic fan base, making Joan one of the network’s most beloved early hosts and winning her raves from critics and viewers alike.

Joan also hosted dozens of HGTV specials, including The White House Christmas; Designing for History: The Madame C.J. Walker Showhouse; Christmas at Biltmore Estate, and the annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.

As a nationally recognized design expert, Joan has been a celebrity speaker at home shows and design centers nationwide and a frequent guest on TV and radio shows.  She has also served as a judge for national design contests (including the Sub Zero Design Awards and Detroit Home Magazine Awards), has contributed to national and international periodicals (including the Robb Report and Home Spa Magazine) and has been a spokesperson for national companies, including In-Sink-Erator and DuPont. Among other honors, Joan has won two regional Emmy Awards for writing and directing.
